Memories of a family member

Dear diary,
Today I’m bored so I’m going to write to you about the memories of my sister. She is a funny, cute little but get’s the urge to be the most annoying thing in the world. I remember her when she was a baby, with the biggest, chubbiest cheeks ever!! Her younger years were one of the best as when she got older, she became an attention-seeker and a show-off.

When she was young, she was always cracking people up. She used to bite and pinch me all the time. She got an ear infection when she was three and that felt absolutely terrible for her. Luckily, she received a small operation to cure it. We would go to pools and beaches together and would go to Wet n Wild for her birthday!

As she got older she is more into being ‘cool’. She annoys me all the time and argue all the time.

China Under a Communist Government

China is now under a Communist government. Mao, ruler of the party was very strict to the people.

Many people weren’t trusted and were imprisoned. Schools were closed and religion was banned. The Red Guards (who worked for Mao) kept  laws going and terrorised the population. China became an isolated country.

In 1976,  Mao died, the laws had  eased and China had more rights to trade with countries and to come in and out of China. The current leader Hu Jintao has improved the the educational opportunities and the poverty.

They introduced the one-child law to slow down the still-growing population. Hu Jintao feared that they would soon run out of food and essentials.

The only  party in China is the Communist Party. People cannot vote for governments but can elect party members for parliament.

I am a Kidney

Dear Host,

I believe that I should stay in tip-top shape in your body. It may help the it in many different ways.

Firstly, I do an important job in the body. I clean out the waste from the blood and send it back to the heart. The waste is then turned into urine. I help the body by absorbing the toxic waste out of the blood instead of other parts in the body absorbing it.

Secondly, I am a big feature of the Urinary System. Without me, the Urinary System wouldn’t function properly because it wouldn’t have anything to absorb the toxic wastes in. The other systems would then be effected and the body would soon die. Some of the toxic wastes  kill most of the 10 systems in your body, which again, causes trouble for the entire body. All of the systems need each other, so if one is not functioning, the others won’t either.

Therefore, I have concluded that I should stay in a healthy condition because I separate the toxic wastes from the blood and I play a big role in  keeping the other systems alive.

From your body part,

Your Kidneys.

Seabirds Pay the Ultimate Price for Plastic Pollution

Seabirds and gulls are really paying the price!!! Off the coast of the Tasman Sea, birds are mistaking plastic for food. This is now effecting the reproduction of the seabirds and the way they live.

These pieces of plastic, when swallowed by birds, can tear internal organs and release toxics that cling to the plastic. One of these toxics are Mercury which can kill these birds. Dr. Lavers, the Tasmanian Museum, has observed in his latest survey that 95% of the birds nesting have plastic inside their stomachs. Scientists have found out that a big portion of the problem comes from the Northern Pacific Garbage Patch (a circular current storing garbage). Most of the marine life bring the plastic back to their nests where then the adult and chick slowly start to die.

This is horrible!!!! We need to stop pollution!!!!!
